Back in March, just before the UK went into lockdown, I had my last personal brand photoshoot. It seems like bloody decades ago now! I know it's a cliche for photographers to say they are 'passionate' about photography. I'm not passionate about photography, I'm passionate about creativity and people. Put the two things together and I'm in my element!
Jana is a business and mindset coach based in Newmarket.
She got in touch after seeing a post of mine on LinkedIn about my personal brand photography packages.
After discussing her requirements on a call it was determined that the best fit for her would be my mini personal brand package. This is a 2-hour package which includes a 30-minute phone/video call to discuss and agree the images required and a 90-minute photoshoot.
Jana wanted to capture images in her home office showing her undertaking her typical daily duties. As a coach, Jana spends most of her day on her laptop on video calls, or on the phone with her clients, so these were deemed necessary images for her website.
In addition, she wanted some photographs in a nearby coffee shop. When using privately owned establishments ALWAYS ask permission from the management to take images. It is against the law to take images within private establishments (even in someone else's home!) so I always ensure I get permission from management before I take any images.
And finally, Jana wanted some more lifestyle, outdoor images that she could again use on her website and in social media posts.
The 90-minute photoshoot allowed us to capture all the required images and also sufficient time for Jana to change outfits so that she had a bit of variety to choose from.
Is it time for you to update your website and social media images?
Many people spend a small fortune on their website. Perhaps even paying SEO experts to assist with getting their website found in search results. Any SEO person worth their salt will tell you that using stock photography is something to be avoided to increase your SEO rankings. Why? Because most free stock photography you will find on legal sites (check out my top 8 recommended free stock image site recommendations here) have been used thousands, if not tens of thousands of times on other websites. Google and other search engines put more value on original content.
Personal brand photography is all about inviting your audience and ideal clients into your world. To give them insight into the person behind the business.
Today people want to see authenticity. Using stock photography doesn't show any authenticity whatsoever.
My personal brand photography packages provide you with a pool of images that you can use across your website, blog posts, social media pages etc. Use them along with Canva to create an unlimited number of social media posts.
